H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute
The Associate Center Director is the senior leadership position with primary oversight of Population Science activities at Moffitt. This leader has significant authority and responsibility for the academic and research mission of the Moffitt Cancer Center, which is undergoing a significant expansion in both Basic and Population Sciences.
The ACD oversees the Division of Population Science, currently comprised of three Departments: Cancer Epidemiology; Health Outcomes & Behavior; and Biostatistics and Bioinformatics. The strategic plan calls for the creation of a fourth Department, provisionally named Cancer Care Delivery Research. Moreover, the institution is committed to adding 75 research faculty over the next 10 years, and at least 20 of these recruits are targeted for the Division. The ACD hires and provides ongoing review and mentorship of the Department Chairs. The ACD also must review and approve performance evaluations and promotion and tenure of the faculty in the Division. This leader serves on the Research Institute Steering Committee and the Academic Leadership Executive Committee. There is outstanding administrative support, including a full time executive assistant, a Division administrator, and dedicated central resources for sponsored research.
