Personal Statement

As a physician scientist, I prioritize the translation of basic science research into novel clinical therapies. My research productivity has spanned over two decades and includes significant cancer discoveries involving the prevalent RAS oncogene. My current research programs focus on the therapeutic targeting of gastrointestinal cancers via precision medicine and stem cell pathway inhibition. I am an experienced Principal Investigator of Phase 1 – 3 clinical trials from industry and the NCI national clinical trial network. I believe my clinical, translational and basic research expertise support my role in the translation of novel research findings into oncologic therapies.
