Famed Coach to Join "Hoops 4 Hope"

The annual "Hoops 4 Hope" basketball game aims to raise awareness and money for cancer treatment and research. Traditionally, the head football coaches of UNM and NMSU coach the legislators, however, this year there's been a change. Ray Birmingham, UNM's Head Baseball Coach, and Lou Henson will coach. Henson is a retired NMSU Head Basketball Coach. He led the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament from 1968 to 1970, where they made it to the Final Four.

Henson will coach the House team, but he'll have his work cut out for him against Birmingham and the Senate. Read the "Hoops 4 Hope" press release and the Santa Fe New Mexican article.
