Posted on June 17th, 2015 by msequeira

The new discovery links a common test for prostate cancer, PCA3, with a newly-discovered gene. Richard Lauer, MD, FACP, explains how this could help a million men fight prostate cancer by shedding light on how aggressive the disease might be for some men and what treatments might work well for them.

Read the press release that describes the discovery published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Watch Dr. Lauer's interview on KOAT-TV and Eddie Garcia's story on KOB-TV:

The work was conducted in the Arap-Pasqualini laboratory, now at UNM Cancer Center.
