The UNM Cancer Center received a 5-year $7 million NCI National Community Oncology Research Program grant.
The NCI's NCORP grants support clinical trials programs throughout the country.The program was recently updated and now reflects the model that the UNM Cancer Center and the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance use to bring clinical trials to all New Mexicans.
Melanie Royce, MD, PhD and Carolyn Muller, MD, serve as principal investigators for the NCORP grant.

Teresa Stewart is Director of the Clinical Research Office at the UNM Cancer Center and is the Executive Director of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance. She spoke to Charles Maynard of KSFR-FM about the NCORP grant and what it means for New Mexico.
