Researchers

Cancer is a complex set of diseases. Unlocking its mysteries demands the expertise and collaboration of scientists in many disciplines. Research at the UNM Cancer Center is therefore intensively interdisciplinary. We are home to four NCI-funded research programs composed of basic and clinical scientists from a wide range of disciplines (pathology, biology, genetics, computational science and statistical modeling, engineering and materials science, to name a few) across UNM and at partner institutions such as Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute and New Mexico State University.

There are currently 126 cancer researchers affiliated with the UNM Cancer Center. These scientists are organized into our four core research programs: Cancer Biology and Biotechnology, Hematologic Malignancies, Cancer Population Sciences and Women’s Cancers.
