I am Co-Leader of the Head and Neck Clinical Working Group (CWG) at the University of New Mexico Comprehensive Cancer Center (UNM CCC). I am a physician scientist focused on treating head and neck malignancies. I am leading the clinical trials in head & neck malignancies and working on translational research in these areas. My main interest is to develop new therapeutic approaches and biomarkers for this aggressive cancer.
We have a strong multidisciplinary team including head and neck surgeons, radiation oncologists, medical oncologists and basic researchers. We are working on developing clinical trials that we can translate from bench to clinic. One of our interests is identification of biomarkers for head and neck cancers. I am collaborating with Michelle Ozbun to develop biomarker driven clinical trial in HPV positive oropharyngeal cancers. I am also member of Phase I CWG and I have been involved in early phase immunotherapy trials for head and neck cancers.
