Legislators' Basketball Game to Benefit UNM Cancer Center

On Friday February 7, New Mexico's legislators will compete in the annual charity basketball game, "Hoops 4 Hope." Members of the New Mexico House of Representatives and state Senate play in the annual "Hoops 4 Hope" basketball game to help raise awareness and money for cancer treatment and research. In last year's game, the House Representatives beat the Senators by seven points. The Senate, coached by UNM Head Baseball Coach Ray Birmingham, will play for redemption this year.

The game will be in the Capitol High School Gymnasium in Santa Fe. Tip-off is at 7:00 P.M. and tickets are $5 at the door. Tickets can also be purchased in advance in Room 125 of the Capitol.

Last year's game raised more than $26,000, which brought the total amount the game has raised since 2007 to more than $100,000. Proceeds benefit the UNM Cancer Center.
