An appropriation from the state of New Mexico is helping some New Mexico women get three-dimensional mammograms. A 3D mammogram takes several images of the breast and compiles them into a three-dimensional image. This enables radiologists to detect breast cancers more easily and lead to fewer call-backs for re-imaging.
To qualify for a free 3D mammogram, women must meet age, insurance and income eligibility criteria. Learn more: read the media alert, see our online flyer or call 505-272-4545 to schedule your mammogram today.
Ursa Brown-Glaberman explains 3D mammograms and the program at UNM to Mike Jaxson, KSVP-FM:
to Richard Eeds at KVSF-FM, and to Dan Mayfield, "The Morning Brew."
