SunZapp! A new skin cancer phone app to help protect against the sun

By msequeira

Skin cancer is on the rise and is one of the only cancers to be increasingly more common in the United States. Marianne Berwick, PhD, helped to launch a new phone app to help guide sun exposure, an important risk factor for skin cancer. The app asks questions about your hair color, eye color, and medications and tells you how long it will take you to get a sunburn, what the UV index is, and how to protect yourself from skin cancer. Visit http://www.sunzapp.org/ to learn more about the app.
